Has anyone figured out how or if it is possible to use AST mailx to
access Googlemail? Has anyone to share a howto?
Five months later... same problem. Same question. Same desperation :-(
Can't you just import Heirloom mailx and we're done with Googlemail support? :)
Six months...
Seven months...
Why can't AST just import Heirloom mailx and add libast support on top of that?
Glenn, the trouble with mailx versus GoogleMail is still happening. Is
this bug still on your radar?

Another lost bug.

Glenn, can't AST just import Heirloom mailx and add libast support on
top of that? Or does AST mailx have special features which warrant
that it's codebase should still be used despite its lack of working
IMAP/SSL support (which - in real world - presents the majority of
mail client users)?

What would be better is if somebody ported pgksrc to UWIN so that would
make installing other free software much easier. It does say on the
wikipedia page that work is being done to port it to UWIN.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pkgsrc

I checked and heirloom is listed as a supported package:

http://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/pkgsrc/current/pkgsrc/mail/README.html

Then having a commercial sponsor pay for the hosting and maintenance
of the compiled packages, as well as hosting a bug tracker, etc.
